This 4-star hotel opened in September 1990, built in Scandinavian style, located on the embankment of the river Danube, opposite Margaret Island. With suitable venues for conference, business, fitness and spa combined with a guest orientated policy Helia Hotel provides one of the best examples amongst the caterers and hoteliers in Budapest.

Medical department of Danubius Health Spa Resort Helia offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic facilities under the supervision of highly qualified, multilingual physicians.

Spa therapy section:
Diagnostic section: medical examination, laboratory, ECG Massage: medical-, sport-, reflex, anti cellulite.

Medical gymnastics: individual-, group-, water gymnastics
Hydrotherapy: hydroxeur bath, weight bath, carbon dioxide bath, fragrant bath, jacuzzi.

Hydro-electrotherapy: ultra-sound, decimed, iontophoresis, interference current, galvanic current, diadynamic Inhalation, Parafango, Inno-rheuma cream-pack Oxygentherapy Weyland massage-chair.

Indications: locomotor disorders, articular pain, rheumatism ( except acute inflammation ), circulatory disturbances, postoperative rehabilitation, exhaustion, recreation.

Contraindications: acute inflammation, rheumatic fever, acute stage of S.L.E. and immune diseases, certain skin diseases, cardiac diseases, sclerosis multiplex, feverish condition, thrombosis.

Food & beverage

Restaurant Jupiter offers a hot buffet breakfast between 07:00 and 10:00, lunch between 12:00 and 15:00 and dinner between 18:00 and 22:00. Hungarian and international foods are served. Vegetarian foods available.

Café (08:00 - 22:00) offering homemade pastries, snacks, soft drinks, coffee and tea specialties.

Limited room service.

Room is Clean and the SPA is great.

More fresh fruits at breakfast and speedy check in and out. Very slow for a Hotel with thousands of Turists and buses

The view over the Danube friom the balcony was a real delight - and the excellent spa.

A free complimentary bottle of water would not go a miss

The indoor pool was superb. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We get a room with a view on the Danube river, although in the reservation we had a room with street view.

I think the hotel is rather a 3,5 star hotel than 4*, since rooms and bathrooms are small and the equipment is not very modern. On the other hand, the hotel is quite fine and I'd recommend it.

i loved the terrace and the room view of the danube and also the tea and coffe making facilities

maybe more fruit at breakfast and a etter choice of cereals coffee not very hot

The place next the river and the swimming pools

They aren't realy kind people and they belive that "superior room'' means a realy small room including....coffemaker!

Access to pool, spa, etc however did not make use of them as did not have time

The breakfast service could be improved, 1) coffee, tea, hot water was stored in huge urns and was only warm, sometimes lukewarm - hot would be better 2) cooked food was left on the trays without covers so the food got progressively drier into the morning 3) weekend staff not as quick to replenish bowls/plates when these got used up - had to ask for them a couple of times
