The Mátyás City Hotel, in the Budapest downtown just a couple of minutes from the pedestrian quarter and beautiful Váci Street with its array of fine shops, is the first member of the City Hotel Chain. We established the hotel above the famous historical Matthias Cellar restaurant.

Hotel information

Every Wednesday and Thursday the award-winner Children Ensemble's folk show entertains our guests in Matyas Pince Restaurant.

Food & beverage

Our speciality is that the plentiful buffet breakfast is prepared in the world famous Matthias Cellar.

Room information

In its first year we had 25 rooms, but continually increasing guest numbers made it necessary to expand capacity, thus today guests will find 85 rooms at their disposal.

Spacious room with clean bathroom facilities and the excellent buffet breakfast. Ideal city location, close to both the metro and Christmas market and the friendly, helpful staff who fortuitously for us speak english as our Hungarian is extremely basic.

Would have preferred a double bed instead of two single beds pushed together

The proximity of the hotel was fantastic very central to Vaci Street
